2016 Spring Interns
Stephanie is a senior at UNCG majoring in studio art with a BFA concentration in new media and design. She is working as a design intern for Triad Startup Lab and assists both the founders and the program itself with any creative needs they might have.

Mattison Chilton is a second year law student at Elon University School of Law, specializing in business and tax law. Mattison runs the Elon Law Tax Clinic, where they prepare tax returns for North Carolina residents pro bono. Mattison is writing business blogs for local entrepreneurs and helps with social media development plans.
“Triad Startup Lab enables Greensboro to become a stronger entrepreneurial community by aiding startup companies with marketing, networking, and business planning opportunities. The program pushes startups to grow and build a plan for success.”
Stephanie McGill is a senior at UNCG majoring in business administration studies. Stephanie has a culinary degree from OCI in Portland, OR and has 3 years experience as a sous chef. She also owns her own business online that she is planning to transform into a local business in Greensboro, and is a recent USMC veteran. In her spare time Stephanie works as a teaching aid for business writing and communications at UNCG, as an intern at Collab in downtown Greensboro, and an inaugural member of ThinkHouseU.
“I’m excited to be a part of the Triad Startup Lab team. Not only will I have the chance to grow and learn as an entrepreneur, but I’ll also be able to watch and help startups grow and develop their companies first hand. This is an amazing opportunity for success.”
Jeremy Hutton is a junior at UNCG studying to obtain his computer science degree. He assists Triad Startup Lab and founders with web development needs, and anything else that might help them realize their goals.

2015 Summer Interns
Studying International Sociology and English at UNCG, Rebecca is in her fifth year. She is a freelance journalist in Greensboro. Rebecca is assisting Triad Startup lab this summer by writing articles, press releases and bios for all the members; among taking photographs and video when needed.
“Greensboro is a great city, surrounded by other great cities. To be the best city we need more grassroots local businesses. Co//ab and Triad Startup Lab allow that opportunity to build a sustainable economy from the inside out. No one wants chains and corporations to take over their city. Uniqueness and a push forward is what the community needs.”
Web Development Team
Allen Schiffman is a rising junior at Greensboro Day School. He is currently in the process of designing a new website for the Triad Startup Lab, as well as assisting with the social media plan for Co//ab and TSL.
“Co//ab’s presence in Greensboro is important because it provides a place for students, early entrepreneurs and professionals to lease desk space and collaborate in a diverse community of people and skills. It also provides free coffee!”
Web Development Team
Austin is currently studying Business Administration and Computer Science at High Point University. Austin is a member of the Triad Startup Lab Web Development Team. He helps build and design the websites for the Triad Startup Lab and founders.

Jonathan Hermes is a first-year Law student and Master of Law graduate at Wake Forest University. He grew up in the Midwest participating in his family’s small business and also started his own photography & web design business in high school. He has a great personal interest in assisting the development of new entrepreneurial endeavors. At Triad Startup Lab, Jonathan assists entrepreneurs with web design, photography, marketing, and any early-stage legal matters like patent searches.
“As an undergraduate Political Science major, I strongly support government and community economic development partnerships like Triad Startup Lab, and I’m excited to help foster positive business income for an economically ailing community. By investing in the development of local entrepreneurs, we can create economic benefits that long outlast the brief effects of direct aid programs.”
Keenan is a student of North Carolina A&T and majoring in Liberal Studies. He will be graduating December of 2015. He is an aspiring filmmaker and lends his skills to videography to Triad Startup Lab.
“I love creating video content and editing video. Triad Startup Lab is important to Greensboro because it helps entrepreneurs make the connections they need to grow. It’s hard without TSL to find the resources to entrepreneurs need to accelerate their businesses.”
Anna graduated from Elon University with a degree in Interactive Media. As Intern with Triad Startup Lab, she helps push forward design and marketing along with social media.
“TSL is great for giving small businesses good opportunities and increasing Greensboro’s economic development.”
Everette is a student at NC A&T studying Graphic Communication. Slocum works on his tech startup that he and some of his peers started about a year ago.

TSL Intern Project Manager
Madison is a Marketing Student at UNCG with a minor is psychology. She has skills in market research, brand identity, marketing plan development and implementation, as well as Social media. Madison employs those skills in her work with Triad Startup Lab by contributing to social media posting and marketing.
“The Startup lab is beneficial to Greensboro because it is a way to pioneer a strong entrepreneurial community. By allowing and encouraging entrepreneurship, we are able to make Greensboro stronger by simultaneously creating new jobs and industries while stimulating the local economy. Each individual has the power to take their ideas to the next level and launch them forward into success; at the Triad Startup lab we make that happen.”
Content Collaboration and Creative Writing
Jana is a NC A&T SU Journalism and Mass Communications student. She is the opinions editor with the A&T Register and has experience in blogging. As a Triad Startup Lab intern, Jana is working with content collaboration and writing.
“The Startup Lab is an asset to the Greensboro community because it allows starting entrepreneurs and small businesses to develop a plan to better their business. The Startup Lab teaches and aids entrepreneurs in a way that will push their business to grow to its fullest potential.”
Research and Development / Social Media
A recent graduate of UNCG with a BS in communications, Ashley works with the Triad Startup Lab’s social media team.

Research and Development
Justin graduated from the University of Alabama with a BA in Political Science. Justin is currently in his second year of law school at Elon Law. This summer Justin is assisting in the restructure of the TSL website. Justin is writing business blogs for local entrepreneurs and help with social media development plans. He also assists with business plan development and grant applications for startups.
“I think value lies within connecting local entrepreneurs to investors, other entrepreneurs, coaches, and other members of the community to help accelerate the entrepreneurship community and provide the tools for startups to take the next step forward in their business/product.”
